Outside School Hours Care and Vacation Care
As you all know we are planning to open Altitude Kids Moranbah in early July this year.  The development of the building is going well and it looks great.
This update is to inform you that we will stagger the opening of rooms within the Centre with the Babies, 2yr, 3yr and a preschool room opening in July.  We will then open the Outside School Hours Care and Vacation care at a later date, probably in October 2008.
The reasons for not offering Outside School Care immediately is that we are trying still trying to source enough trained staff to run the program, and we are also talking with Moranbah East State School about locating an Outside School Care Program within the grounds of the school, which will be more convenient for parents.

Introduction
January 2007 saw the introduction of the Preparatory Year (Prep) into Queensland schools. There is also a six-month increase in the starting age for Year 1 from 2008.
Prep, which replaced preschool, is offered in all state primary schools and accredited non-state schools as a full time non-compulsory year of schooling. Unlike, preschool, there are no waiting lists for Prep in state schools.

Altitude Kids has a new logo!!
We now have these two fantastic kangaroos, Kadee and her son Jirra, who are going to help is spread many educational and health messages to our children. They will feature heavily on their own, as per the picture here and of course in the logo on all Altitude Kids information. I really think they will be a great tool for staff to use to relate to the children.  Image
Update on the Moranbah Centre
The building is progressing really well and I will be visiting the site next week to see if for myself. It is on track to be completed on schedule, and it looks really great. Also good to note that we have about 175 children on the waiting list for this Centre, we will definitely fill the 0-2 spots and are getting close to filling all the other age groups.
Dysart
We have some good news on Dysart, all the issues that we had are now being resolved and it looks like the building of this Centre will commence mid this year. I know many people will be saying “yes, sure.. “ but I think we are really ready to go there. We have about 45 children on the waiting list there, but as the building of the centre becomes a reality, this should increase.
Formal enrolments
We will be contacting you regarding formal enrolment forms being complete in March, prior to that we will release the final pricing schedule for the Centre.
Good website
If you need some inspiring information on how to help your child in any part of their development, the Federal government has a great website http://raisingchildren.net.au/ that you should have a look through. It also has links to other websites.
As always if you have any questions please contact me at any time on 0405 480 343.
